Top Ten Reasons For Lack Of Recent Blogging

You may have noticed that my Italy blogging has slowed to a crawl. Here are the Top Ten reasons for this.

  1. The ineffable Jessi Jeanne Reath (AKA JJR) has arrived in Florence! I’ve been showing her around my stomping grounds, getting pizza, gelato, coffee, bus tickets that we haven’t used yet. Opera. Grad school applications (for her, not me, thank jeebus).
  2. Like my last job, my current work fluctuates between insane downtime and insane uptime (is that a word?). I’m still on the academic calendar, so this time of year is especially busy since I’m enrolled in classes as well as working for a university (with students who are also enrolled in classes). I’ve co-authored a nigh-30-page marketing report on the library I work at (for class), I’ve fleshed out some Directed Individual Study projects, and I’ve rounded out my journals and reports for my Internship hours. This week is “Paper Due” week for the FSU Florence students, and next week is Exam Week. Which means extended library hours from here on out. Wish me luck.
  3. I’ve caved in and purchased a premium membership on Spotify, which does anything but encourage me to be studious and on-task with anything.
  4. It’s the holiday season and I’m busy trying to figure out what JJR and I will do for the December break, whether it’s feasible to shop locally and ship for holiday presents (or just shop online), how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, etc.
  5. I may or may not have started writing every day on what may or may not become a novel.
  6. I started playing Chrono Trigger (again) on an SNES emulator (again), but unlike my previous attempts, I’m really getting into it this time.
  7. I got back into the music reviewing game with two recent albums: the new Black Keys and the new T-Pain. And two more album reviews in the works.
  8. I’ve written up a blog post about the library I work at (can I just start saying “my library”?) and my attempts to digitize things around here. It should be up at Hack Library School soon enough.
  9. I started a podcast with mio fratello. (It should be up soon enough?)
  10. It’s the gray rainy season in Florence, which inflames my lazy bones.

So there you have it. The whole kit and kaboodle. The inside info. The full monty. The emporer’s new clothes. The scooper dooper. The notes from underground. The word on the street. The all-access pass. The most dangerous game.
